Elegance in logo is designing is essential to target specific clients. If your brand is offers sophisticated products or is a luxury provider, elegant logo design is your perfect option. When trying to work with luxury, the color scheme is pretty simple, gold and silver accents along with dark and deep blues, greens and reds. The design should be bold and daring. This logo is kept minimal with basic shapes and monotone color scheme. You may find additional inspiration by searching on Vlemonn.
Let’s get started!
First, we create a new document (cmd+N or ctrl+N) in Adobe Illustrator with an artboard size of 800 x 600px
Now use Rectangle Tool (M) from the tool panel and create a square. To create a square, you have to press Shift on your keyboard while drag the mouse on the artboard. The square should be small and placed on the right side of the artboard.
The square should have stroke fill. The stroke size is 10 px.
Let’s rotate the square. Select the square and Click Right > Transform > Rotate. A new panel window will appear on tour screen. Select the angle to be 45 degree and then hit okay. The square should be rotated by now. Copy and paste the square on left side as shown below.
Complete your design by creating more squares. Copy and paste two more squares in between the existing ones. One should be above and the other should be below as shown below. The sizes of these squares can be decreased for design aesthetics.
Create two more squares. This time they should be bigger than the previous squares. Please refer to images shown below for the alignment and placement of objects.
Now select the Pen Tool (P) from the tool panel and create two lines in alignment to the squares. Connect the smaller squares to the bigger offset squares. Remember these lines should align with the sides of squares.
Now select four squares in between and select the Shape Builder tool (Shift + M) to create different objects. Select the Shape Builder tool and then click and drag across the selected shapes to create one single object. Create different objects as shown below.
Remember that your paths must be either aligned or overlapping for the Shape Builder tool to work.
Then select the entire design then go to Object > Path > Outline Path. This function will convert the paths into different objects.
We’re now going convert all the circles into a compound object. Select all the circles and got to Object > Compound Path > Make (cmd+8 or ctrl+8).
You may simply follow along the images given below.
Let’s create our color palette.
I have selected a basic golden color scheme. To use the colors, you can add them to the Swatch panel by selecting them and clicking on the New Color Group button.
Our design and the color palette are ready. Now select an object, then select the Gradient Tool (G) and add color to your design. Select the shape and fill it with shades of gold as shown below.
The last step is to add text. Select the Text Tool (T) from the tool panel and write your company name. I worked with Georgia font as it is bold and sophisticated. The size can be adjusted to your need. Fill the text with a gold color from your color palette.
Our elegant shape logo is complete! I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial. If you do follow this tutorial and create your own logo, please post it in the comments so we can see your result. Thankyou fellow designers!
