In our previous two articles, we learned about How to download and configure XAMPP on Windows, Mac, and UBUNTU. Now we are going to install Visual Studio Code. We are going to use Visual Studio Code as a development IDE. Why Visual Studio Code. It is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. And it is free. For downloading Visual Studio Code visit https://code.visualstudio.com/. Download Visual Studio Code based on your OS and Install it.
Next, we are going to install few plugins which help us during the development.
PHP IntelliSense: Advanced PHP IntelliSense for Visual Studio Code.
Code Spell Checker: A basic spell checker that works well with camelCase code. The goal of this spell checker is to help with catching common spelling errors while keeping the number of false positives low.
Our IDE is ready, next we are going to open our development folder in Visual Studio Code. For this click on the open folder on Welcome Page or you can use the keyboard shortcut (ctrl+o, command + o for mac) and select your development folder.
For quick access this folder or project we are going to save it as a workspace. For this go to File menu and select "save workspace as", I am going to name my workspace as "admin.dealsato.xyz".
